Current development of pronunciation didactics and the role of phonetics at the lessons of German as a foreign language

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with both German phonetics and phonetic exercises which help to develop an understandable pronunciation. First of all, the meaning of pronunciation and also the main phenomena of German phonetics are going to be thoroughly examined. Moreover, the most frequent mistakes of German learning Czechs are going to be determined and explained. This is followed by a description of what is a good coursebook and what has to be included in it. Four coursebooks are going to be analysed from the phonetic perspective in the practical part. It is going to be explained what kinds of pronunciation exercises they contain and how effective they are for German learning Czechs. Development of exercises is going to be examined in order to specify whether something changed in them in the last few years. At the end of the thesis there is an evaluation which helps to understand which coursebooks presented pronunciation exercises in the best way and which are the most effective ones.

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá jak obecně německou fonetikou, tak fonetickými cvičeními, která slouží k získání srozumitelné výslovnosti. Nejdříve je v práci důkladně zkoumán význam výslovnosti a hlavní fenomény německé fonetiky, dále v práci jsou zjištěny a objasněny nejčastější chyby Čechů, kteří se učí německy. Následně je popsáno, jaké učebnice jsou považovány za kvalitní a co by měla kvalitní učebnice obsahovat. V praktické části jsou z hlediska fonetického zkoumány čtyři učebnice. Bude zjištěno, jaké typy výslovnostních cvičení obsahují jednotlivé učebnice a zda jsou pro Čechy, kteří se učí německy, efektivní. Následně je na základě zkoumání zhodnoceno, zda v posledních ně-kolika letech nastala v případě fonetických cvičení nějaká změna. Závěr práce obsahuje vyhodnocení celé této problematiky, kde je poukázáno na to, jaké učebnice by mohly působit na studenty nejefektivněji a jaké učebnice obsahují nejkvalitnější fonetická cvičení.
