Czech-Polish bilingualism in the development of children´s language skills (theory and empiricism)

Abstract:

Mowa odgrywa ważną rolę w życiu społecznym człowieka. Dzieci poznają pierwszy język w sposób naturalny poprzez komunikację ze swoimi opiekunami. Proces rozwoju mowy dziecka przebiega etapami i trwa kilka lat. Po urodzeniu występuje okres melodii, wyrazu, zdania i swoistej mowy dziecięcej. Nieprawidłowości w zakresie mowy dziecka prowadzą do zaburzeń komunikacji i utrudniają znacznie funkcjonowanie społeczne, emocjonalne i intelektualne. Terapia zaburzeń mowy to długotrwały proces, który wymaga zrozumienia najbliższego otoczenia, cierpliwości i czasu. W niniejszej pracy rozważany jest temat dwujęzyczności, czyli bilingwizmu, wyjaśniane są jego formy oraz najważniejsze zasady w nauczaniu dwujęzycznego dziecka. Część praktyczna dotyczy badania strategii wychowywania dziecka w rodzinie dwujęzycznej oraz wykorzystanie obu języków w interakcji dzieci i rodziców.

Abstract:

Speech has an important role in human social life. Children learn the first language in a natural way by the communication of their parents. The child's speech development process takes place in stages and lasts for several years. After birth, there is a period of melody, expression, opinion and specific child's speech. Irregularities in the child's speech lead to communication disorders and significantly impede social, emotional and intellectual functioning. Speech disorder therapy is a long-lasting process and requires understanding of the closest surroundings, patience and time as well. Then I deal with topic of bilingualism and explain its forms and the most important principles in teaching of a bilingual child. The practical part concerns the research of family education strategies in a naturally bilingual family and the use of both languages in the interaction of children and parents.
