Abstract:

Cílem této diplomové práce bylo sledovat, jak reaguje obvodovými a tloušťkovými změnami kmene buk lesní (Fagus sylvatica L.) pod vlivem přísušku ve vybraném mladém bukového porostu na Školním lesním podniku Masarykův les Křtiny. Konkrétně na bucích s počáteční transformací koruny tvorbou kmenových výmladků a na bucích bez transformace koruny. Jelikož je možné se domnívat, že výskyt kmenových výmladků může být považován za reakci buku na stres suchem nebo na probírkový zásah, byl u všech jedinců stanoven i index kompetice, sledován nástup rašení pupenů a rozvinutí listů. Pomocí mechanických i automatických dendrometrů byly sledovány sezónní změny obvodu kmene a vyjádřen tloušťkový přírůst. Monitorována byla přímo v porostu také půdní vlhkost pro zachycení období přísušku. Z provedené studie vyplynulo, že jedinci s výskytem kmenových výmladků měli vyšší hodnotu kompetičního indexu a menší hodnoty obvodového, resp. tloušťkového přírůstu, ve srovnání s jedinci bez transformace korun. Ukazuje se tedy, že výskyt kmenových výmladků může vizuálně identifikovat jedince s menším přírůstem v důsledku sucha. Ukazuje se také, že výskyt kmenových výmladků u mladých bukových porostů a nižší přírůst je důsledkem větší kompetice, hustoty porostu. Silnější výchovný zásah by tedy mohl kladně ovlivnit vodní bilanci porostu a zlepšit růstovou reakci buku i v podmínkách přísušku.

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis was to observe the European beech’s circumferential and diameter changes of the trunk under the influence of drought in a selected young beech stand at Training Forest Enterprise Masaryk Forest Křtiny, especially beeches with the initial transformation of the crown by the formation of epicormic shoots and on beeches without the transformation of the crown. It is possible to assume, that the occurrence of epicormic shoots can be considered as a beech’s reaction to drought stress or thinning, thus the competition index was determined for all the individuals, the onset of bud sprouting and leaf development was monitored. Using mechanical and automatic dendrometers, seasonal changes in the trunk circumference were monitored and the diameter increase was expressed. Soil moisture was monitored directly in the stand for monitoring the drought period. The study showed that individuals with the occurrence of epicormic shoots had a higher value of the competition index and lower values of diameter increase, compared to individuals without crown transformation. Thus, it appears that the occurrence of epicormic shoots can visually identify individuals with less growth due to drought period. Noticeably, the occurrence of epicormic shoots in young beech stands and lower growth is caused by greater competition due to stand density. A stronger thinning could therefore positively affect the water balance of the stand and improve the growth response of beech even during dry periods.
