Abstract:

This master thesis consists of two parts which deal with project teaching of biology in English. The aims of the thesis are to introduce and describe the methodology of project-based learning, to present the results of realised projects, evaluate them and eventually compare them. The first three chapters introduce and describe the historical development, characteristic features of the project teaching and teaching subjects in other languages than that normally used (CLIL). Based on this theoretical part, two practical realisations of the project in biology lessons completed in English are presented. The achieved results are compared, evaluated and assesments are commented on from the teacher?s and students? point of view. The thesis also presents the worksheets used in the project and provides readers with possible extended version of the project.

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se v rámci dvou částí zabývá projektovou výukou v hodinách biologie v anglickém jazyce. Cílem této práce je představit a popsat metodiku projektové výuky, uvést výsledky dvou uskutečněných projektů, shodnotit a srovnat je. První tři kapitoly přibližují vývoj projektové metody, její typické znaky a popisují CLIL: výuku předmětů v jiném jazyce, než se běžně užívá. V návaznosti na teoretickou část je v části praktické popsán projekt, který byl realizován ve dvou verzích. Výsledky verzí tohoto projektu jsou srovnány a zhodnoceny z pohledu učitele i studentů. Tato práce také předkládá učební listy, se kterými studenti pracovali a na jejichž základě byla navržena i rozšířená verze projektu, jako možnost jejich dalšího využití.
