Abstract:

Hlavním cílem této diplomové práce je odhadnout a popsat dopad iráckých válek na vývoj irácké národní ekonomiky. Studie se zaměřuje na vývoj ekonomiky během období čtyř destruktivních válek, které Irák postihly: irácko-íránská válka v letech 1980-1988, první a druhá válka v Zálivu, období po irácké okupaci Kuvajtu mezi lety 1990-1991, uvalení komplexních ekonomických sankcí a embarga Radou bezpečnosti OSN na Irák 6. srpna 1990, až do okupace Iráku americkými a britskými jednotkami v roce 2003. Studie se také pokouší odpovědět na otázky týkající se ztrát v důsledku těchto válek a následků embarga OSN na životní úroveň iráckého obyvatelstva. Kromě toho jsou zde diskutovány možnosti růstu iráckého HDP v případě mírové situace bez výše uvedených válek. Výzkum ukazuje, že války měly negativní dopady na iráckou ekonomiku, irácké obyvatelstvo dosáhlo nízké životní úrovně s negativními sociálními dopady. Mezi další důsledky válek patří ztráta iráckého území, národní suverenity, rostoucí zadlužení apod.

Abstract:

development of its national economy. The study attempts to look into the results of these wars. This is by the study of the Iraqi economy before and after the four destructive wars: the Iraqi – Iranian war (1980-1988), the first Gulf war, after the Iraqi occupation of Kuwait (1990-1991), passing through the imposed comprehensive economic sanctions and the Embargo of the UN Security Council, against Iraq on August 6, 1990, until the occupation of Iraq by the America and UK troops in the second Gulf war 2003. The study also answers the questions about the costs of these wars and the effects of the UN Embargo on the living standard of the Iraqi population. Moreover, in the case of a peace situation, the hypothesis of the Iraqi GDP growth and the Income per Capita is away from the above wars. The research concluded that the wars negatively affected the economy and the overall well-being of the average Iraqi person.
