The dieback of pine stands in the region Sedčansko - causal agents, recent state and solving the problem

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá zjištěním příčin usychání borových porostů v Sedlčanském regionu na lesním majetku ve správě státního podniku Lesy České republiky, s.p. Ve vybraných porostech byl sledován výskyt kambioxylofágního hmyzu, patogenních hub a jmelí (Viscum album subsp. Austriacum). Mezi nejvíce zastoupené houby patřil rod václavka (Armillaria), které se nacházely na 65 % kácených vzorníků. Výskyt houbových patogenů Cenangium ferruginosum a Sphaeropsis sapinae byl slabý až střední a Lophodermium pinastri na bylo potvrzeno na 38 % jehlic. Z hmyzu byl nejpočetnějším druhem Phaenops cyanea a Pissodes piniphilus. Střední výskyt byl potvrzen u Tomicus minor. Jmelí (Viscum album subsp. Austriacum) byl nalezeno na 85 % kácených vzorníků. Práce zároveň sledovala průběh srážek v zájmovém území v letech 2008–2018 a současně rozsah chřadnutí sledovaných porostů. Byla zjištěna korelace mezi srážkovým deficitem od roku 2015 a nárůstem nahodilých těžeb borových souší. Hlavní příčinou usychání borových porostů na Sedlčansku je sucho. Působení houbových patogenů a kambioxylofágního hmyzu je sekundární. Navrhovaným řešením je důsledné provádění nahodilých těžeb včetně likvidace klestu, obnova proředěných porostů borovice přirozenou obnovou a současně zvyšování stability budoucích porostů obnovou dřevinami tolerující vyšší deficit vody v půdě.

Abstract:

The thesis is focused on the causes for drying of pine stands in Sedlčany region in the forest estate managed by government owned company Lesy České republiky, s.p. In the selected areas the occurrence of cambioxylophagous insects, pathogenic fungi and mistletoe (Viscum album subsp. Austriacum) has been examined. Genus Armillaria belonged among the most represented fungi, which appeared on 65 % cut sample trees. Appearance of fungi pathogens Cenangium ferruginosum and Sphaeropsis sapinae was low to medium and Lophodermium pinastri was positively confirmed on 38 % needles. Among insects the most numerous species were Phaenops cyanea a Pissodes piniphilus. Medium occurrences have been confirmed with Tomicus minor. Mistletoe (Viscum album subsp. Austriacum) has been found on 85 % cut sample trees. Thesis also monitors the precipitation in the researched territory in 2008 – 2018 and at the same time the scope of withering of the monitored stands. Correlation has been found among the rainfall deficiency since the year 2015 and increase of salvage cutting of dead pines. Main cause for drying of pine forests in the region of Sedlčansko are droughts. The effects of pathogenic fungi and cambioxylophagous insects are secondary. Suggested solution is diligent execution of salvage cuttings including disposal of slash, renewal understocked pine stands through natural regeneration and in the same time raising stability of future stands by planting species tolerant to higher water deficiency in the soils.
