The Role of the Family in Child´s Adaptation to Kindergarten Environment

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce má výzkumný charakter. Teoretická část pojednává o podobě rodiny předškolního dítěte, jejích funkcích a rolích, které směrem k dítěti zastává. Dále se zaobírá možnostmi přípravy dítěte na prostředí mateřské školy a usnadněním procesu adaptace dítěti. Praktická část popisuje kvalitativní výzkum, prováděný s rodiči a učiteli mateřských škol formou polostrukturovaného interview. Hlavním výzkumným cílem práce je analyzovat a popsat roli rodiny v adaptaci dítěte na prostředí mateřské školy. Úkolem rodičů je připravit dítě na vstup do mateřské školy a předejít nebo zmírnit adaptační projevy u dítěte. Výsledky naznačují, že názory rodičů a učitelů se rozcházejí - zatímco učitelky se spíše setkávají s rodiči, kteří si svou roli neuvědomují a přivádí dítě do mateřské školy s tím, že jej vychovají učitelky. Oproti tomu rodiče účastnící se výzkumu si svou roli uvědomují a své dítě připravují k zvládnutí adaptace.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis has a research character. The theoretical part deals with the form of the preschool child's family, its functions, and its roles towards the child. It also deals with the possibilities of preparing the child for the kindergarten environment and facilitating the process of adaptation for the child. The practical part describes qualitative research conducted with parents and kindergarten teachers in the form of semi-structured interviews. The main research aim of the thesis is to analyze and describe the role of the family in the child's adaptation to the kindergarten environment. The role of parents is to prepare the child to enter kindergarten and to prevent or mitigate adaptation manifestations in the child. The results suggest that parents' and teachers' views diverge - while teachers are more likely to encounter parents who are unaware of their role and bring their child to kindergarten with the expectation that teachers will educate him/her. In contrast, parents participating in the research are aware of their role and prepare their children to cope with the adaptation.
