Possibilities and limits of bilingual education on gymnasium in Znojmo

Abstract:

The graduation thesis deals especially with bilingualism, bilingual education and language acquisition. We live in the period of globalisation and it is very important to learn foreign language. We have many possibilities how we can learn the languages. One of them is the school education. In the last years there is a new method of education which offers the integration of the foreign language into the technical subject. The main issue of this thesis is to prove if this kind of education is good and if pupils are able to take the expertise such as pupils in common type of education. This thesis is composed of the theoretical part where the terms like biligualism, EU questions, bilingual education, immersion and CLIL are specified. Then there is the practical part which contains a survey for pupils and teachers. I chose the bilingual grammar school in Znojmo as my observational object. The answers are covered and concluded separately. The conclusion of the survey and the interview should contribute to the following developping of this sort of education.

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá především bilingvismem, bilingvním vyučováním a osvojováním jazyka. Nacházíme se v době globalizace a učení se cizím jazykům je velmi důležité. Máme dnes mnoho možností, jak se jazyk naučit. Jednou z možností je výuka ve škole. V posledních letech vznikla metoda vyučování , která nabízí integraci cizího jazyka a odborného předmětu. Zda je tahle forma výuky kvalitní a zda jsou žáci v cizím jazyce schopni pojmout odbornost stejně jako žáci v běžné výuce, to je hlavní otázkou této práce. Práce je sestavena z části teoretické, kde jsou vymezeny pojmy jako bilingvismus, EU otázky, bilingvní vyučování,imerse a CLIL. Dále z části praktické, která se skládá z dotazníku pro žáky a pro učitele. Jako objekt pozorování jsem si vybrala bilingvní gymnázium ve Znojmě. Odpovědi jsou jednotlivě zpracovány a vyhodnoceny.Vyhodnocení dotazníku a interview by mělo přispět k dalšímu rozvoji tohoto druhu vyučování.
