Current building of the libraries in the Czech Republic and abroad

Abstract:

Magisterská diplomová práce „Současná výstavba knihoven v České republice a v zahraničí“ přináší v první části informace o spolupráci knihovníka s architektem, zmiňuje jednotlivé fáze, kterými musí navrhovatel nové knihovny projít, od sběru informací a analýz stavu přes zpracování dokumentace až po samotnou výstavbu, přináší názory a požadavky odborníků na architekturu knihoven. Nechybí ani informace k vhodnému umístění budov a k obecnému členění vnitřních prostor či požadavky na ergonomii prostředí. Další část je věnována výstavbě konkrétních knihoven. Zmíněna je dlouholetá spolupráce českých knihovníků v této oblasti včetně aktuálního stavu, což zahrnuje především zpřístupnění databáze Výstavba a rekonstrukce knihoven. Nejobsáhlejší částí práce je přehled knihoven, které již byly v České republice postaveny nebo které jsou v různých stupních realizace, od vyhlášení vítězného projektu v architektonické soutěži, po stavby, kde již chybí pouze vnitřní vybavení. Následují příklady spolupráce a příklady nově postavených knihoven v zahraničí.

Abstract:

The graduate dissertation „Current building of the libraries in the Czech Republic and abroad“ provides in the first part information about the cooperation of the librarian with an architect, remarks about constituent phases which are necessary for planning of a new library, from information collection and current situation analysis, elaborating technical documentation to the building itself. It presents also the opinion and requirement of professionals for the library architecture. There is not the information missing about suitable situating of the building and about general structuring of inner spaces or requirements of ergonomics. The next part is dedicated to the building of concrete libraries. There is also mentioned the long-time cooperation of the Czech librarians in this area inclusive the current situation, which means especially the exposing of the database called Building and restoration of the libraries. The most extensive part is the survey of the libraries in the Czech Republic, which are already finished or which have been realized in different stages – from the announcement about winning project in the architectonical competition to the buildings where is only inner equipment missing. The cases of cooperation and examples of newly built libraries abroad follow.
