Abstract:

Nine months of travels around Iceland and Ireland are put together in a book. Project is a document of two countries, although I approach it through my own memories. Photography completes text and the other way around, together they create a comprehensive picture of (my) true nature of the country. I conduct a dialogue with the nature, through the camera I try to capture Iceland and Ireland in their true light, and in the text I recall my own experiences in them. The goal of the work is not only to describe my own journey which had an unexpected number of detours, but also to bring closer the true character of both countries and cultures.

Abstract:

Deväť mesiacov ciest naprieč Islandom a Írskom sa spojili v knihe. Projekt je síce dokumentom dvoch krajín, avšak pristupujem k nemu ako ku spomienke. Fotografia dotvára text a naopak, spolu tvoria ucelený obraz o (mojej) ozajstnej podstate krajiny. Vediem dialóg s krajinou, skrze fotoaparát sa Island a Írsko pokúšam zachytiť v ich pravom svetle a textom spomínam na moje vlastné prežitky v nich. Cieľom práce nie je len vypovedať moju vlastnú cestu, ktorá mala nečakané množstvo odbočiek, ale aj prblížiť ozajstný charakter oboch krajín a kultúr.
