The influence of leadership on employee engagement and loyalty

Abstract:

Přestože je řízení lidských zdrojů považováno za poměrně novou vědní disciplínu, dosavadní praxe ukazuje, že se jedná o hlavní hnací sílu organizací pro dosahování dlouhodobé úspěšnosti. Vysoce konkurenční a neustále se měnící situace na trhu práce vyžaduje konkurenceschopné, kvalitní, loajální a angažované lidské zdroje. Cílem diplomové práce je pomocí vlastního výzkumu ve vybrané organizaci zjistit, zda má styl vedení (leadership) v organizaci vliv na angažovanost a loajalitu jejích zaměstnanců, a dále zda mezi angažovaností a loajalitou existuje vztah. Výzkum byl založen na specializovaných dotaznících a to na Dotazníku přístupu k vedení lidí (CLQ) a Dotazníku pracovní a osobní pohody (UWES). Uvedené dotazníky byly doplněny otázkami zjišťující loajalitu zaměstnanců. Vyhodnocení probíhalo formou statistické korelace. Výsledky potvrdily, že styl vedení nemá vliv na angažovanost ani loajalitu zaměstnanců ve vybrané organizaci, avšak existuje přímá závislost mezi angažovaností a loajalitou zaměstnanců organizace.

Abstract:

Although human resource management is considered a relatively new scientific discipline, current practice shows that it is the main driving force of organizations for achieving long-term success. The highly competitive and constantly changing situation on the labor market requires competitive, quality, loyal and engaged human resources. The aim of the master thesis is to find out with the help of own research in a selected organization whether the leadership style in the organization has an effect on the engagement and loyalty of its employees, and further whether there is a relationship between engagement and loyalty. The research was based on specialized questionnaires, the Czech Leadership Questionnaire (CLQ) and the Utrecht Work Engagement Survey (UWES). The mentioned questionnaires were supplemented with questions determining the loyalty of employees. The questionnaire was evaluated by statistical correlation. The results confirmed that the leadership style does not affect the engagement or loyalty of employees in the selected organization, but there is a direct relationship between the engagement and loyalty of the organization's employees.
