Abstract:

Kostel Notre-Dame-du-Port, nacházející se v severně východní historické části města Clermont-Ferrand, je stavba datovaná obecně do 12. století. Kvůli nedostatku primárních pramenů se studie posledních tří století o tomto monumentu zaměřovaly zejména na určení datace, rekonstrukci původního vzhledu a význam bohaté sochařské výzdoby. Cílem této práce je nejprve kriticky zhodnotit závěry předchozích badatelů. Následně se budeme moci dotknout jednoho z témat, které do studií o Notre-Dame-du-Port nebylo dosud zahrnuto, tj. jakým způsobem mohla být tato stavba vnímána středověkým návštěvníkem pohybujícím se v jejím interiéru.

Abstract:

The church Notre-Dame-du-Port, located on the northeast side of the historical part of Clermont-Ferrand is generally date to the 12th century. Despite the lack of any direct evidence of its origins, three centuries of archaeological, historical and art historical research have provided many answers about this monument: the church has been dated, its original appearance has been reconstructed, and the preserved sculptural decoration has been interpreted. In this thesis, we will firstly re-examine the conclusions of precedent studies. Only after, we will be able to deal with one of the as yet neglected topics in the research - the movement of medieval visitors inside the church.
