Netomania? Adolescents and the Internet

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská diplomová práce se zabývá tématem adolescentů ve světě internetu a novým fenoménem závislosti na internetu neboli netomanii. Práce se skládá z teoretické a empirické části. V teoretické části je podán pohled na mladé lidi ve světě digitálních technologií a internetu, je zde popsána generace vyrůstající s internetem a rizika, která jim v tomto prostředí hrozí. Za jedno z těchto rizik je považována netomanie, které je v práci věnována podstatná část, od vymezení tohoto pojmu, přes její druhy, komplikace, které přináší do života závislých, její projevy a způsoby léčby až po výzkumy této závislosti. V empirické části je zkoumáno, kolik času tráví studenti střední odborné školy na internetu, jakým činnostem se zde věnují a jak se projevuje čas trávený na internetu na jejich studiu a sociálním životě. Cílem práce je zjistit, jak užívají studenti střední odborné školy internet a jaký to má dopad na jejich život.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the subject of adolescents in the world of the internet and with the new phenomenon of the internet addiction or netomania. The thesis consists of theoretical and empirical parts. The theoretical part gives the view of young people in the world of digital techonologies and the internet, the generation growing up with the internet and risks which threaten them in this surroundings are also described. Netomania is considered to be one of these risks, that is why an important part of the thesis deals with it. It focuses on the definition of netomania, its types, complications that are brought to the addicts´ lives, its symptoms and treatments and also on the research of this addiction. In the empirical part it is investigated how much time vocational school students spend on the internet, what they do there and how the time they spend on the internet influences their studies and social life. The aim of the thesis is to find out how the vocational school students use the internet and how it affects their lives.
