Quern stones as indicators of life and extinction
Abstract:
The task of this bachelor thesis was to analyse connection of spatial distribution of quern stones at Greatmoravian strongholds Pohansko u Břeclavi and Valy u Mikulčíc with the extinction of settlement. The main task was to analyse, whether it is possible to determine the way of extinction of the settlement by analysing the concentrations of quern stones. Úlohou bakalárskej diplomovej práce bolo preskúmať súvis plošnej distribúcie žarnovov na veľkomoravských hradiskách Pohansko u Břeclavi a Valy u Mikulčíc so spôsobom ich zániku. Základná otázka, ktorú sa práca snaží zodpovedať, bola, či je možné na základe koncentrácií nálezov žarnovov určiť spôsob zániku osídlenia.
