A Practical approach to successful employment

Abstract:

The purpose of my thesis was to gather useful information and recommendations which will help to job seekers to find employment more easily. Firstly, I concentrated on character and personality outlines of applicants which must be properly identified and defined to be subsequently written in the CV. Also, I mentioned the various ways how to contact an organisation or a company. Before writing the chapters about CV and motivation letter, I also examined the differences between American and British English which are very important for English correspondence. In case of applicant?s success, he or she is usually invited for an interview, where the candidate could be put through several different tests which I briefly mentioned in this chapter too. Undoubtedly, the participation in two English interviews was a major contribution to my experience. Receiving the letter of acceptance or non ? acceptance is the last step for candidates and by this chapter I finished my thesis. In appendices I present the documents and samples of letters. Some of them the applicant will certainly meet during the job application process.

Cílem této práce bylo shromáždit užitečné informace a rady, které pomohou uchazečům o práci snadněji nalézt zaměstnání. Nejprve jsem se věnovala charakterovým a osobnostním rysům uchazeče, jež musí být správně rozpoznány a definovány, aby posléze mohly být zapsány do životopisu. Dále zmiňuji různé způsoby, jak kontaktovat organizaci či společnost. Před samotnou kapitolou o životopise a motivačním dopise jsem se zabývala také rozdíly mezi britskou a americkou angličtinou, které jsou pro anglickou korespondenci velice důležité. Pokud je uchazeč úspěšný, většinou je pozván na pohovor, kde může být podroben několika různým testům, o kterých se v této kapitole stručně rozepisuji. Velkým přínosem do budoucna pro mne beze sporu byla účast u dvou pohovorů v angličtině. Obdržení dopisu o přijetí, či nepřijetí je pro uchazeče posledním krokem, kterým svoji bakalářskou práci završuji. V příloze jsem uvedla dokumenty a příklady dopisů, z nichž s některými se uchazeč během hledání zaměstnání jistě setká.
