The Process of Adaptation of Children with a Different Mother Tongue from the Perspective of a Kindergarten Teacher

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá průběhem adaptace dětí s odlišným mateřským jazykem pohledem učitele mateřské školy. Teoretická část práce definuje pojem dítě s odlišným mateřským jazykem, popisuje přípravu učitele na příchod dítěte s odlišným mateřským jazykem a jeho adaptaci na prostředí mateřské školy. Praktická část popisuje výsledky kvantitativního výzkumu prostřednictvím dotazníku pro učitele mateřských škol s cílem zjistit, jak učitelé mateřských škol postupují při adaptaci dětí s odlišným mateřským jazykem. Výzkum odhaluje širokou škálu postupů, které učitel mateřské školy využívá. Naznačuje, že učitelé se na práci s dětmi s odlišným mateřským jazykem adekvátně připravují, využívají individuální přístup a spolupracují s rodiči dětí. V závěru práce jsou výsledky výzkumu využity pro doporučení pro praxi mateřských škol.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the course of adaptation of children with a different mother tongue from the perspective of a kindergarten teacher. The theoretical part of the thesis defines the concept of a child with a different mother tongue, describes the teacher's preparation for the arrival of a child with a different mother tongue and its adaptation to the kindergarten environment. The practical part describes the results of a quantitative research through a questionnaire for kindergarten teachers to find out how kindergarten teachers proceed in adapting children with a different mother tongue. The research reveals a wide range of practices used by the kindergarten teacher. It indicates that teachers adequately prepare for working with children with a different mother tongue, use an individual approach and cooperate with the children's parents. The paper concludes by using the research findings to make recommendations for kindergarten practice.
