Family Worship As an Example of Lay Pedagogical Activity. Description of the Phenomenon in Evangelical Families.

Abstract:

Diplomová práce “ Rodinné bohoslužby jako příklad laické pedagogické činnosti” pojednává o jevu domácích bohoslužeb. V první části jsou představeny základní předpoklady pro křesťanskou výchovu a jsou popsány formy bohoslužeb a to především na základě věku. Dále jsou stanoveny zásady pro realizaci těchto bohoslužeb jako například soudržnost, pravidelnost, otevřenost a další. V druhé části autor představuje výzkum, který se zaměřoval na praxi těchto bohoslužebných událostí především v českých a slovenských evangelických rodinách. Použitou metodou kvalitativního výzkumu bylo kódování. Rozhovory přinesly zjištění ohledně délky, času, častosti, obsahu a účastnících a jejich zapojení. Co se týká obsahu, z rozhovoru vyplynulo, že nejběžnějšími prvky bohoslužeb v rodinách jsou modlitba, čtení, zpěv a diskuse. Z výzkumu také vyšla najevo nerovnováha mezi množstvím rad týkajících se těchto rodinných setkání v odborné literatuře a jejich skutečnou aplikací v rodinách. Navzdory nesporným problémům v realizaci bohoslužeb jako je nedostatečná systematičnost se respondenti shodují na pozitivním přínosu bohoslužeb pro jejich rodiny, který jim dává motivaci v této praxi setrvávat.

Abstract:

The project “ Family Worship As an Example of Lay Pedagogical Activity. Description of the Phenomenon in Evangelical Families. ” deals with the phenomenon of family worship meetings. In the first part it outlines some basic theoretical premises regarding Christian education and then describe features and forms of family worship gatherings. These forms depend especially the age of the children who participate in them. Basic principles such as openess, consistancy, regularity and others are explained. In the second part author presents a research that focused on the practise of these worship times mainly in Czech and Slovak evangelical families. The method used in the qualitative research was coding. The interviews brought findings regarding lenght, time, frequancy, content and range of participants and their involvement. As far as content was concerned it was discovered that the most common activities include prayer, singing, reading and discussion. Another fact that was discovered in the research was the discrepancy between the amount of literature dealing with the issue of family worship and poor application of these pieces advice by the families. In spite of various challenges that families face in practising these devotionals such as lack of consistency, all respondents agree that these meeting have positive value for their families. This gives them motivation to persevere in this practise.
