NMR spektroskopie je nedílnou součástí moderní chemie. Zatímco metodologie pro studium roztoků je využívána rutinně, metody NMR pevné fáze se začaly dostávat do širšího povědomí teprve v průběhu minulých dvaceti let, kdy prošly zásadním rozvojem.
