Cílem předkládané práce je analyzovat možné příčiny, které vedly Descarta k ukončení práce na Pravidlech pro vedení rozumu. Nejdříve se snažím ukázat, že existují dva okruhy možných vysvětlení. První pramení z úzké vazby mezi Descartovou filosofií a jeho matematickou praxí. Druhý okruh je určen omezenými možnostmi matematických nástrojů, které měl Descartes v daném období k dispozici. The aim of this thesis is to analyze the possible causes that led Descartes to end his work on the Rules for the direction of the mind. First, I try to show that there are two possible explanations. The first stems from the close connection between Descartes' philosophy and his mathematical practice.
