The use of a capacitor as a backup power source for emergency lighting

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá teoretickým návrhem napájení nouzového svítidla pomocí superkapacitoru, jako i porovnáním navrhovaného řešení s běžně používaným systémem napájení. Úvodní část páce přináší náhled do problematiky akumulace elektrické energie pomocí elektrochemické reakce a přímého ukládání elektrického náboje v superkapacitorech. Následující části této práce seznamují se základními parametry LED světelných zdrojů, jejich složením, konstrukcí a funkcí, jako i s požadavkem norem a předpisů, které ukládají požadavky na nouzové osvětlení a stanovují jeho parametry. V samotné částí návrhu napájení nouzového svítidla pomocí superkapacitoru jsou uvedeny jednotlivé výpočty, které vedou k návrhu funkčního nouzového svítidla s autonomním zdrojem elektrické energie superkapacitorem. Dále je provedeno porovnání parametrů dvou systému napájení nouzového svítidla, jako i jejich ekonomické zhodnocení. Hlavním cílem diplomové práce je poukázat na vhodnost a za určitých podmínek i velkou výhodnost použití superkapacitoru jako nouzového zdroje elektrické energie pro systém nouzového osvětlení.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the theoretical proposal of the power supply to the emergency luminaires using superkapacitor, as well as by comparing the proposed solution with the commonly used system power supply. The initial part of the lever brings insight into the issue of accumulation of electric energy through an electrochemical reaction and direct storage of electrical charge in the superkapacitor. The following parts of this work are acquainted with the basic parameters of LED light sources, their composition, structures and functions, as well as with the requirement of standards and regulations, which impose requirements for emergency lighting and set its parameters. In the parts of the design of the power supply to the emergency luminaires using superkapacitor are given individual calculations that lead to the design of a functional emergency lighting with an autonomous source of electrical energy superkapacitor. Furthermore, it is done by comparing the parameters of two of the power system emergency lighting fixtures, as well as their economic evaluation. The main goal of this thesis is to highlight the suitability and, under certain conditions, a great advantage of the use of superkapacitor as the emergency source of electrical power for the emergency lighting system.
