Interpretation of natural heritage within the Šumava National Park as a factor promoting local development

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce je empirickou studií se zaměřením na interpretaci přírodního dědictví v Národním parku Šumava. Kvalitní životní prostředí a výjimečné přírodní a krajinné hodnoty řadí tento národní park mezi oblíbené turistické destinace s vysokým rekreačním potenciálem. Interpretace místních přírodních atraktivit je nedílnou součástí nabídky vzdělávacích aktivit a programů Správy Národního parku Šumava a soustavná snaha o její zatraktivňování nepochybně přispívá k realizaci udržitelného cestovního ruchu v regionu. Obsah teoretické části práce tvoří rešerše odborné literatury relevantní k tématu interpretace přírodního dědictví ve vztahu k cestovnímu ruchu na území s vysokým stupněm ochrany. Praktická část práce vychází z analýzy kvantitativních dat získaných z dotazníkového šetření mezi návštěvníky parku. Cílem dotazování „face-to-face“ bylo zjistit, jak respondenti vnímají a hodnotí interpretaci místních přírodních atraktivit prezentovanou nabídkou Správy NP Šumava. Právě prostřednictvím vhodné interpretace lze na tyto návštěvníky působit a nepřímo tak ovlivnit jejich chování v prostředí, na které může mít neregulovaný masový turismus zásadní dopad. Z výsledků provedeného výzkumu vyplynulo, že je stávající úroveň interpretace přírodního dědictví v NP Šumava návštěvníky hodnocena a přijímána velmi pozitivně a pokračování úspěšných programů Správy NP Šumava se tak jeví jako přínosné a smysluplné.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is an empirical study focusing on the interpretation of natural heritage in the Šumava National Park. Quality environment and exceptional natural and landscape values rank this national park among popular tourist destinations with high recreational potential. The interpretation of local natural attractions is an integral part of the offer of educational activities and programs of the Šumava National Park Administration and the constant effort to make it more attractive undoubtedly contributes to the implementation of sustainable tourism in the region. The content of the theoretical part of the work consists of a research of professional literature relevant to the topic of interpretation of natural heritage in relation to tourism in areas with a high degree of protection. The practical part of the work is based on the analysis of quantitative data obtained from a questionnaire survey among park visitors. The aim of the "face-to-face" survey was to find out how the respondents perceive and evaluate the interpretation of local natural attractions presented by the offer of the Šumava National Park Administration. It is through appropriate interpretation that these visitors can be influenced and thus indirectly influence their behaviour in an environment on which unregulated mass tourism can have a major impact. The results of the research showed that the current level of interpretation of natural heritage in the Šumava National Park is evaluated and received very positively by visitors and the continuation of successful programs of the Šumava National Park Administration thus seems beneficial and meaningful.
