Victor Hugo: Toilers of the Sea, comparative analysis of the Czech translations
Abstract:
The aim of this diploma theses is to compare and analyse translation processes in three Czech translations of the novel Les travailleurs de la mer, translated into English as The toilers of the Sea. These three translations have been made by František Václav Krejčí (1923), Vladimír Neff (1954) and Bohuslav Rovenský (1958).
Abstract:
Cílem diplomové práce je analyzovat překladatelské postupy ve třech českých překladech francouzského románu od Victora Huga, Dělníci moře. K porovnání jsme si zvolili překlad od F.V. Krejčího z roku 1923 a dále překlady od Vladimíra Neffa z roku 1954 a od Bohuslava Rovenského z roku 1958. V teoretické části se věnujeme představení autora a zasazení díla do historického kontextu.
