Rationality of free-riding in public transporation

Abstract:

The goal of the submitted thesis: “Rationality of free-riding in public transport” is an analysis of factors, which influence the decision of an individual agent to free-ride. The first part is concentrated on research about law enforcement and the theoretical model of expected utility of the agent, who decides to free-ride. In the second part based on a questionnaire survey and data from DPMB, it will be explored whether the behaviour of the people is following the model. And in the final part, in case of disagreement of real data with the model, it will be aimed at the analysis of possible non-economical causes, which might describe this disagreement.

Abstract:

Predmetom bakalárskej práce „Racionalita jazdy načierno vo verejnej doprave“ je rozbor faktorov ktoré stoja za rozhodnutím individuálneho agenta cestovať načierno. Prvá časť je zameraná literárny rešerš vynucovania práva a na teoretický model očakávaného úžitku agenta, ktorý cestuje načierno. V druhej časti na základe dát z dotazníkového šetrenia a dát z DPMB, bude skúmané, či je správanie ľudí v súlade s naším modelom. V poslednej časti v prípade nesúladu reálnych dát s modelom bude zameraná na skúmanie možných neekonomických príčin, ktoré môžu vysvetľovať tento nesúlad.
