Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na popis dvacátých let 20. století ve Spojených státech amerických a jak se tato tzv. Bouřlivá dvacátá léta promítají do románu Velký Gatsby od slavného amerického autora Francise Scotta Fitzgeralda. Cílem práce byla analýza románu a jeho dvou filmových adaptací. The Diploma Thesis is focused on the twenties of the 20th century in The United states of America and how these so called Roaring Twenties are projected in the novel The Great Gatsby written by famous american author Francis Scott Fitzgerald.
