Evaluation of Damage Caused by Small Mammals in Plantings of Trees

Abstract:

V této práci bylo vyhodnocováno poškození způsobené hlodavci ohryzem kůry dřevin. Vyhodnocení probíhalo na třech lokalitách, a to Beskydy, Jeseníky a jižní Morava. Hodnoceny byly výsadby různého stáří a druhu dřeviny. Nejpoškozovanější dřevinou byl buk lesní, se kterým bylo v rámci práce provedeno několik analýz poškození. Srovnány byly škody mezi Jeseníky a Beskydami, škody na dřevinách a vybrané faktory, které výši škod ovlivňují. Jednalo se o lesní vegetační stupeň, výšku a průměr kmene dřeviny. Z provedených analýz vyplynulo, že nejpoškozovanější jsou výsadby mladých dřevin a s přibývajícím věkem dřeviny náchylnost k poškození hlodavci klesá. Zhodnoceny byly také početnosti hlodavců ve vztahu ke škodám, které způsobují. Bylo zjištěno, že v Jeseníkách byly škody závislé na početnosti hrabošů, v Beskydech tento vliv nebyl tak výrazný. Na jižní Moravě nebyly během měření škody téměř evidovány.

Abstract:

There was the damage caused by rodents due to the consumption bark of trees evaluated in this work. The evaluation took place in three locations, namely the Beskydy Mountains, the Jeseníky Mountains and South Moravia. There were plantings of various ages and tree species evaluated. The most damaged tree species was common beech, with which were performed several analyses of damage in this work. The damage between the Jeseníky and Beskydy mountains, damage caused to woody species and selected factors that affect the amount of damage were compared. Selected factors were the forest vegetation stage, height and diameter of the tree trunk. The performed analyzes showed that the most damaged are plantings of young trees and with increasing age of tree species the susceptibility to damage by rodents decreases. There was also evaluated the abundance of rodents in relation to the damage they cause. It was found that in the Jeseníky Mountains the damage depended on the abundance of voles, in the Beskydy Mountains this effect was not so significant. There was almost no damage recorded in South Moravia during the measurement.
