Problems of alcoholism in the novels for children and youth by Sylvie Kohl

Abstract:

The main objective of this thesis is the matter of alcohol addiction in the books of a German author Sylvia Kohl "Sorgen um Mama" and "Warum tut Papa das" for children and teenagers. This master's thesis is divided into two sections, first of which is theoretical and focuses on closer characteristics of the term drug addiction, alcoholism and its typology, but also observes the situation and adaptation of children and teenagers in alcoholics' families. In the second, practical part, the problematics of alcoholism in families and its effects on children is explored with the help of a character analysis and an interpretation of both the books. The aim of this thesis is also to draw attention to the topic of an alcohol addiction, together with the chosen books being beneficial for the children and adults from alcoholics' families.

Abstract:

Tématem diplomové práce je problematika alkoholové závislosti v knihách německé autorky Sylvie Kohlové "Sorgen um Mama" a "Warum tut Papa das" určených pro děti a mládež. Tato práce je rozdělená do dvou částí. První část má teoretický charakter a zaměřuje se jak na bližší charakteristiku pojmů drogová závislost, alkoholismus nebo typologie alkoholismu, tak se věnuje i situaci a adaptaci dětí a mladistvých v alkoholických rodinách. Dále je specifikovaná alkoholová tématika v oblasti literatury pro děti a mládež. V druhé, praktické části, je prostřednictvím analýzy postav a interpretace obou vybraných knih poukázáno na problematiku alkoholismu v rodině a jeho působení na děti. Cílem této práce je rovněž upozornit na téma alkoholové závislosti, přičemž právě tyto knihy mohou být v rámci prevence pro děti ale i dospělé z alkoholických rodin velmi nápomocné a přínosné.
