Biodegradable materials and their impact on waste management

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zaměřuje na biologicky rozložitelné materiály a jejich vliv na odpadové hospodářství. Seznamuje s obecnou charakteristikou biologicky rozložitelných materiálů, a to především se zaměřením na biologicky rozložitelné plasty, jejich dělení, vlastnosti a nakládání s nimi se zaměřením na proces kompostování. Dále seznamuje s jejich normativním prostředím. Ve výzkumné části práci byly realizovány dva pokusy na biologickou rozložitelnost tří vzorků plen, a to v domácích podmínkách v zemině, stabilizovaném kompostu a zemině kontaminované skládkovými průsaky, a dále v podmínkách průmyslové kompostárny. V kapitolách výzkumné části jsou blíže popsány metody a průběh zkoušek. Následně jsou zpracovány a vyhodnoceny výsledky s prezentací doporučení pro praxi.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis focuses on biodegradable materials and their impact on waste management. It introduces the general characteristics of biodegradable materials, especially with a focus on biodegradable plastics, their separation, properties and handling with a focus on the composting process. It also introduces their normative environment. In the research part of the work, two experiments were performed on the biodegradability of three samples of diapers, namely in domestic conditions in soil, stabilized compost and soil contaminated with landfills, and also in the conditions of an industrial composting plant. The methods and course of tests are described in more detail in the chapters of the research part. Subsequently, the results are processed and evaluated with the presentation of recommendations for practice.
