Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá tématem Společenské odpovědnosti firem (CSR), které zahrnuje odpovědné chování vůči společnosti v ekonomické, environmentální a sociální oblasti. Cílem práce je prozkoumat společenskou odpovědnost firem v telekomunikačním sektoru v Ghaně. Studie dále doporučila prozkoumat i další oblasti nebo činnosti, které se považovaly za důležité pro telekomunikační sektor. Doporučení jsou založena na výsledcích kvantitativního a kvalitativního výzkumu provedeného mezi společnostmi MTN Ghana, Vodafone Ghana a Tigo Ghana v telekomunikačním sektoru v Ghaně. Výzkum zkoumá jejich povědomí, znalosti a použití principů CSR. Výsledky studie naznačily, že telekomunikační společnosti v Ghaně byly vybrány jako studijní společnosti, které uplatňovaly zásady sociální odpovědnosti podniků a skutečně realizují mnoho projektů v odvětvích, jako je vzdělávání, zdravotnictví, ekonomika a životní prostředí. Studie proto doporučila, aby akcionáři telekomunikačních společností vzali na vědomí, že obchodní činnosti ne vždy přinášejí zisk, ale musí občas investovat také do sektorů, z nichž bude těžit lokalita, kde působí. To jednoduše znamená, že nejen s ohledem na maximalizaci zisku, ale také musí být ochoten věnovat část svého zisku před zdaněním komunitě jako CSR, aby měl pozitivní image společnosti a posílil její celkovou výkonnost. Sarpong, K. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the telecommunication sector in Ghana. Diploma thesis. Brno: Mendel University, 2020. This Diploma thesis deals with the topic of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), which encompasses responsible behaviour towards society in the economic, environmental and social area. The aim of the thesis is to examine the corporate social responsibilities of telecommunication sector in Ghana. The study further recommended other areas or activities which deemed relevant for the telecommunication sector to also look at. The recommendations are based on results of quantitative and qualitative research conducted among MTN Ghana, Vodafone Ghana and Tigo Ghana all in the telecommunication sector in Ghana. The research examines their awareness, knowledge and usage of CSR principles. The results of the study indicated that the telecommunication companies in Ghana were selected as study companies which applied CSR principles and are really carrying out a lot of projects within sectors such as education, health, economic and environment. The study, therefore, recommended that shareholders of the telecommunication companies should note that business activities are not always at making profit but must at times also invest into sectors that will benefit the locality where they operate. This simply means that not only considering profit maximization but must also be willing to give part of their profit before tax to the community as CSR in order to have a positive corporate image and boosting its overall performance.
