The phenomenom of the group in the context of the Czech literary avant garde during the inter-war period

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá vymezením konceptu tzv. historické avantgardy a její specifičnosti v meziválečném českém kontextu. Klade si za cíl sledovat dynamiku individuálního a kolektivního utváření na poli dobového meziválečného kvasu. Pozoruje charakteristické rysy vůdčích osobností, kolem nichž se skupiny formovaly, jejich tendenční skupinové směřování, teoretická východiska a specifika. Práce se věnuje zejména Svazu moderní kultury Devětsil, Poetismu, Konstruktivismu, Surrealismu a okrajově i Levé frontě. Práce se snaží v dobovém kontextu objasnit, proč literární a literárně-umělecké skupiny vznikaly, kam směřovaly a proč většina z nich nepřežila 2. světovou válku.

Abstract:

The work covers the concept of so called historic avant-garde and its specification during the Czech inter-war period context. The target of the work is to follow the dynamics of the change influencing the individuals and groups during the hectic and transforming inter-war period. It follows the characteristic features of the leading personalities, who presented the center of the new forming groups. It covers the groups´ directions, theoretical fundamentals and specifications. The work especially highlights the „Svaz moderní kultury“ (Modern Literal Union) – „Devětsil“, „Poetism“, „Constructivism“, „Surrealism“ and partly „Levá fronta“ (Left Front). The work makes an effort to clear up why, in the period context, there was such a bloom of the literally and literally – artistic groups, where they were heading and why most of them did not survive the Second World War.
