Staphylococcus aureus je významným humánním patogenem, vyvolávající infekce se širokou škálou příznaků. Velkým problémem při léčbě nejen stafylokokových infekcí je vznik rezistencí a také schopnost tvořit biofilm. Důsledkem je rozvoj obtížně léčitelných chronických infekcí. Staphylococcus aureus is a significant human pathogen, causing infections with a wide range of symptoms. A major problem in the treatment staphylococcal and other infections, is the fact that they are developing resistance and the ability to form biofilms.
