The diploma thesis is focused on the prevention of pressure ulcers in a surgical patient. The thesis consists of theoretical and empirical part. The theoretical part de-scribes the characteristics, categorization, and mechanism of pressure ulcers devel-opment. Diplomová práca je zameraná na prevenciu vzniku dekubitálnych lézií u chirurgického pacienta. Práca je zložená z teoretickej a empirickej časti. Teoretická časť popisuje charakteristiku, kategorizáciu a mechanizmus vzniku dekubitu.
