Abstract:

Práce se zabývá proměnami karpální oblasti, na základě kterých reflektuje, k čemu byla ruka v průběhu života jednotlivce a celého druhu využívána. Přestože ústředním tématem je karpální oblast, je pozornost věnována ruce jako takové. Práce je koncipována jako komparativní studie, přičemž ke komparaci je využito větší spektrum primátů, u kterých lze demonstrovat využití ruky během lokomoce či během manipulačních činností. Cílem práce je zhodnotit morfologickou evidenci našich předků a schopnost užití ruky během lokomoce a nástrojové činnosti. Tato evidence je porovnávána s archeologickými daty o prvních dochovaných nástrojích.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis aims at questions related to the evolution of wrist bones, specifically whether they reflect how the hand was used during the life of an individual and of the whole species. Although, the central theme is the carpal area, attention is also paid to the hand as whole. The work is conceived as a comparative study, which uses a larger spectrum of primates demonstrating the use of hands during locomotion or manipulative activities. The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the morphological evidence of our ancestors and their ability to use hands during locomotion and instrumental activity. This evidence is compared to archaeological data about the first documented tools.
