Work-life balance zaměstnanců ve velkých podnicích

Abstract:

Work-life balance je koncept ve kterém je řešena rovnováha mezi pracovním a soukromým životem. V současném rychle se měnícím pracovním prostředí je problematika tohoto trendu řešena čím dál častěji, a to nejen z pohledu zaměstnance, ale i ze strany firem. Účelem této práce bylo zjistit současné přístupy k podpoře work-life balance velkých firem směrem ke svým zaměstnancům. Prostřednictvím dotazníkové šetření, kterého se zúčastnilo 162 respondentů a realizace fokusní skupiny v počtu 6 účastníků, byly pomocí deskriptivní a korelační analýzy zjištěny současné přístupy velkých firem a odhaleno vnímání work-life balance u jejich současných zaměstnanců. Ve výzkumu byla provedena deskriptivní analýza demografických údajů respondentů ve spojitosti s otázkami dotazníkového šetření, které bylo rozděleno do 5 dimenzí (individuální zkušenosti, pracovní prostředí, nástroje work-life balance, vnímání podpory od zaměstnavatele, důsledky nedostatečné rovnováhy). Pomocí korelační analýzy byl proveden výzkum jednotlivých otázek dané dimenze a následně analyzována dimenze jako celek. Výsledky ukazují rozdílné vnímání rovnováhy mezi pracovním a soukromým životem v rámci genderu, kdy výzkum ukázal, že ženy mají větší potřebu rovnováhy mezi pracovním a soukromým životem než muži. Rozdílnosti přístupů k work-life balance ve velkých formách byly zjištěny i z hlediska soukromého a veřejného sektoru, kdy soukromý sektor nabízí svým zaměstnancům vyšší podporu v této oblasti. Dále bylo zjištěno, že dostatečná podpora work-life balance má pozitivní vliv na spokojenost zaměstnanců, která se může například odrážet i v jejich produktivitě či angažovaností vůči zaměstnavateli. V neposlední řadě se ukázalo, že naopak nedostatečná podpora work-life balance má negativní vliv na psychické a fyzické zdraví zaměstnanců, kdy se tyto důsledky více projevují se spojitostí s vyšším věkem. Ačkoliv se výzkumu zúčastnil poměrné vyšší počet respondentů, výzkum provázely limity v rámci genderu, kdy respondenti nebyli v rovnoměrném rozdělení, to mohlo vést k nejednoznačným výsledkům otázek z hlediska genderu. Nicméně tato práce může být praktickým základem pro manažery velkých firem řešící nastavení firemní politiky zaměřující se na work-life balance.

Abstract:

Work-life balance is a concept in which the balance between work and private life is solved. In today's rapidly changing work environment, the issue of this trend is being addressed more often, not only from the employee's point of view, but also from the companies' side. This diploma thesis deals with analyzing and evaluating the attitudes and approaches of large companies to the issue of work-life balance. Through a questionnaire survey in which 162 respondents took part, and the implementation of a focus group with 6 participants, the current approaches of large companies were determined using descriptive and correlational analysis and the perception of work-life balance among their current employees were revealed. In the research, a descriptive analysis of the respondents' demographic data was carried out in connection with the questions of the questionnaire survey, which was divided into five dimensions (individual experiences, work environment, work-life balance tools, perception of support from the employer, consequences of insufficient balance). Correlation analysis was used to research individual questions of a given dimension and then analyze the dimension as a whole. The results show different perceptions of work-life balance within gender, where research has shown that women have a greater need for work-life balance than men. Differences in approaches to work-life balance in large forms were also found from the point of view of the private and public sectors, where the private sector offers its employees more significant support in this area. It was found that sufficient support for work-life balance positively affects employee satisfaction, which can, for example, be reflected in their productivity and commitment to the employer. Last but not least, it was shown that, on the contrary, insufficient support for work-life balance has a negative effect on the mental and physical health of employees when these consequences are more pronounced in connection with older age. Although a relatively higher number of respondents took part in the research, the research was accompanied by limits within the framework of gender. When the respondents were not evenly distributed, this could lead to ambiguous results in the questions in terms of gender. Nevertheless, this work can be a practical basis for managers of large companies dealing with setting corporate policies focusing on work-life balance.
