Pathological conditions in the prehistoric, ancient and middle ages and their relation to mystique of medicine healing

Abstract:

Cílem mé diplomové práce je zjistit vztah mezi výskytem určitých nemocí a obdobím, zjistit zda jsou některé nemoci (choroby) přímo vázané na určité období eventuelně kontinent či území v minulosti. Zda vznik epidemií daného onemocnění byl náhodný v různých časových intervalech nebo zda je ovlivněn určitou společností, kontinentem nebo kulturním trendem daného teritoria. Dále se zde zabývám kulturními aspekty na nemoc v různých časových intervalech pravěku, starověku a středověku. Diplomová práce obsahuje ucelený přehled patologické problematiky jež přímo koreluje s nálezy pozůstatků, písemnými prameny nebo nalezenými plastikami ze zpracovávaného období. Podrobně popisuje způsob vyšetřování lidských pozůstatků všech úrovní zachovalosti a jejich specifika. Zabývá se problematikou nemoci a kulturním aspektem na ni. V závěru práce je zpracována kapitola „Léčitelství“ zabývající se historií medicíny a léčitelstvím od samotného počátku a sleduje její vývoj a proměny v průběhu času. Poslední kapitola se zabývá jednotlivými odkazy v průběhu času současné medicíně.

Abstract:

As a purpose of this diploma work is to find out a relationship of certain kind of diseases with certain world period as well as to find out if some kind of diseases has been directly connected to a continent or a territory. Another purpose is to find out if epidemic origin of these kinds of diseases has been just a coincidental to some world periods or if this has been influenced by certain society, continent or even by cultural trend of the territory. Further, I deal here with cultural aspects in relation to a disease in different time periods of primeval ages, ancient era and medieval times. All these topics offer compact view to pathologic problem which directly correlates with some human relics, written documents or found sculptures from the mentioned periods. Except that, the topics describe the investigation of human relics in details as well as all levels of their state and particularity of the state. At the end, there is a chapter called "Healing", which deals with history of medicine and healing from the beginning and follows its development and changes along the time.
