Testing of colts in rearing facilities for testing young horses and its use in controling the heredity of the Czech warmblood

Abstract:

Cílem práce je vyhodnocení výsledků z pravidelného třídění hřebečků v testačních odchovnách českého teplokrevníka. Z výsledků testace byla vytvořena podkladová databáze, která byla dále statisticky zpracována. Byl zjišťován vliv otce, plemene a linie otce, testační odchovny a roku konání testace na hodnocení exteriéru, výkonnosti a dynamiky růstu hřebečků. Statistickým zpracováním základního souboru metodou GLM byl zjištěn statisticky průkazný vliv otce a plemene otce na exteriér a statisticky průkazný vliv otce, plemene otce a linie otce na výkonnost hřebečků a dynamiku růstu hřebečků. Dále byl zjištěn statisticky průkazný vliv testační odchovny na exteriér, výkonnost a dynamiku růstu a statisticky průkazný vliv roku konání na hodnocení exteriéru a výkonnosti hřebečků. U statisticky průkazných výsledků bylo provedeno mnohonásobné porovnávání jednotlivých efektů metodou Tukey-B. Byly zjišťovány statisticky významně odlišné páry.

Abstract:

The objective of this thesis is to evaluate the results of the periodical grading of colts in Czech warmblood rearing facilities for testing young horses (RFT). A database has been created from the collected sorting results. Several effects have been tested for their significance on the body conformation, performance and growth dynamics of the colts. These effects include: the sire effect, the breed and line of the sire effects, the RFT and year of sorting effects. The measured sample was further analyzed using the GLM method, which identified a statistically significant effect of the sire and the breed of the sire on the body conformation along with a statistically significant effect of the sire, the breed of the sire, and the line of the sire on the performance and growth dynamics of the colts. Furthermore, a statistically significant effect of the RFT on the body conformation, performance and growth dynamics of used sample colts has been found. Finally, the year of sorting has been proved to have a statistically significant influence on the body conformation and performance of colts. After obtaining the results of the GLM, Tukey-B test (multiple comparison) has been performed to identify any statistically different pairs.
