Allegory Of The Seven Capital Sins

Abstract:

Ve své bakalářské práci pojednávám o problematice sedmi smrtelných hříchů, které se v březnu 2008 staly aktuálním tématem. V médiích se objevila zpráva o tom, že katolická církev (resp. její Apoštolská penitenciatura) rozšířila počet sedmi smrtelných hříchů či že nahradila jejich seznam sedmi moderními smrtelnými hříchy. Ve skutečnosti šlo o zkreslení rozhovoru biskupa Gianfranca Girottiho, regenta Apoštolské penitenciatury pro L'Osservatore Romano. Biskup uvedl sedm moderních hříchů, aby vedl věřící k poznání, že svým jednáním zasahují své bližní, své okolí, ale i přírodu. Mělo jít např. o znečišťování životního prostředí, genetické modifikace, pokusy na lidech, sociální nespravedlnost, ožebračování lidí, shromažďování nemravného bohatství a distribuci drog. Tato aféra mě inspirovala k vytvoření vlastního žebříčku vlastností (brutalita, fanatismus, obscénnost, kýčovitost, Oidipův komplex, chlípnost, závislost) a jejich následnému výtvarnému ztvárnění pomocí digitálních tisků a instalací zakomponovaných do sedmi uměleckých objektů. Projekt upozorňuje na morální úpadek ve společnosti a rozmanitost lidské povahy. V teoretické části se věnuji zasazení tématu do kulturně-historického kontextu. Zaobírám se náboženskými významy ?sedmi smrtelných hříchů? a jejich rolí v daném duchu. Dále uvádím adekvátní příklady z dějin umění a autory, kteří zpracovávali tuto problematiku. Nesmím také opomenout moderní kulturu (výtvarné umění, hudba, film,?) V kapitole ?Vývoj mé umělecké činnosti? se vracím k začátkům mé tvorby na Ostravské univerzitě a popisuji cíle a metody mých prací, které mě postupným uměleckým a osobním vývojem přivedly až k mé bakalářské práci. Vybrala jsem si téma, které mě velmi zajímá a baví zpracovávat. Je to téma se širokým záběrem a velkým množstvím možností co se týče ztvárnění.

Abstract:

I write a treatise of the ?Seven Deadly Sins? in my Bachelor´s Thesis. Seven Deadly Sins has happened an actual topic in the March of 2008. The information discovered in media, that Catholic Security has extended a number of seven modern sins. It was distorting of talk of bishop Gianfranco Girotti for L´Osservatore Romano in the matter of fact. The bishop introduced seven modern sins, so that he lead the congregation to understanding that they make intervention of their familiar, environs and nature by means of their behavior. That was a pollution of environment, genetic modifications, experiments with people, social injustice, beggar people, collection of immoral wealth and distribution of drugs for example. This public stir inspirated me to create my own list of characters (brutality, ?Complex of Oidipus?, fanaticism, obscenity, kitch, immorality, dependence) and their resulting creative work by means of digital prints, the installation and seven crafts objects. The project warns of moral failure in the society and diversity of human´s character. I devote settings of theme in the cultural and historical context in the theoretic part. I engage in religious meanings of ?Seven Deadly Sins? and their role in their own intellect. I mention further the adequate examples from history of art and authors, which elaborate this problem. I am allowed not to omit modern culture (fine art, music, film,? ). I return to beginnings of my creation at ?The University of Ostrava? in the chapter ?Development of My Artistic Activity? and describe the aim and methods of my works, which were able to me by gradual artistic and personal development to my Bachelor´s Thesis. I am very introduced in this theme, which I have chosen. I also enjoy making of this theme.
