Role of libraries during communistic totality: A case study of public library Dubňany
Abstract:
Tato bakalářská diplomová práce mapuje roli knihovny během komunistické totality v letech 1948 - 1989. Formou případové studie se zabývá Městskou knihovnou v Dubňanech. Práce čerpá především z archivních interních dokumentů knihovny. Na příkladu této knihovny práce sleduje, jak komunistická moc mimo jiné i za pomoci cenzury působila na život a myšlení občanů.
Abstract:
This bachelor thesis examines the role of a library during communistic totality between 1948 –1989. This case study deals with public library in Dubňany. The thesis is based primarily on archive intern documents of the library. The aim is to explore how communistic government kept influencing lives and thinking of its citizens through using censorship, among other methods.
