The Opinion of the General Public on Abortion.

Abstract:

Hlavním cílem mé bakalářské práce je zjistit názor laické veřejnosti na umělé ukončení těhotenství. V první části bakalářské práce jsem teoreticky popsala historii a vývoj umělého ukončení těhotenství. Dále jsem se zabývala definicí a metodami umělého ukončení těhotenství. Poté jsem zmínila komplikace, které mohou v důsledku umělého ukončení těhotenství nastat, a psychické potíže, které se po podstoupení tohoto zákroku u ženy mohou objevit. V neposlední řadě jsem se zabývala legislativou a etickými problémy, které s sebou umělé ukončení přináší. Veškeré informace jsem získala studiem odborné literatury a čerpáním ze skript po dobu tříletého studia oboru porodní asistence. V druhé části práce jsem zvolila dotazníkové šetření, kdy jsem respondentům položila šestnáct otázek týkajících se umělého ukončení těhotenství a sedm otázek týkajících se demografických ukazatelů. Jediným kritériem pro vyplnění dotazníku bylo, aby odpovídala laická veřejnost. Jako metodu sběru informací k výzkumné části bakalářské práce jsem využila internetové dotazníkové šetření. Informace, které jsem získala, jsem následně zpracovala pomocí tabulek a grafů s využitím deskriptivní statistiky. Svou prací jsem zjistila, že laická veřejnost spíše souhlasí s umělým ukončením těhotenství a více jak polovina respondentů zná ve svém okolí někoho, kdo tento zákrok podstoupil. Dále jsem zjistila, že větší část respondentů nesouhlasí s potratovou turistikou. Práce je směřovaná pro odborníky v gynekologicko-porodnické oblasti a pro osoby, které tato problematika zajímá.

Abstract:

The aim of my bachelor work is to establish the opinions of the lay public on the abortion. I think that this intervention is very frequent in this time in spite of there are a lot of kinds of contraception. In the first part of my bachelor work I describe the history and the development of the abortion. I deal also with the definition and methods of the abortion. I mention complications which can come as a consequence of the abortion, but also psychic discomforts in the connection with this intervention. And last but not least I deal with the legislation and ethical problems connecting with the abortion. The whole information I obtained through the study specialized literature and scripts during my three-year study in subject midwife. In the second part of the work I chose the method of the questionnaire investigation. I chose sixteen questions concerning demographic conditions. The only criterion for the completion of the questionnaire were answers of the lay public. As the method of the information retrieval in the research part of the bachelor work I used the Internet questionnaire investigation. The data which I obtained were processed in charts and diagrams. Through my work, I have found that the general public tends to agree with abortion, and more than half of the respondents know someone in their area who has undergone this procedure. I also found that most respondents do not agree with abortion tourism. The work is meant for specialists in gynaecological and obstetrical area and for all interested persons.
