Rehabilitation in an ischemic stroke patient suffering from painful shoulder syndrome: case report

Abstract:

Ischemic stroke is one of the most widespread diseases in the world and painful shoulder syndrome is one of its most common complications. Ischemic stroke can cause a motor deficit with alteration of muscle tone, an alteration of the sensitivity of the affected hemisoma, a speech disorder or other higher nervous functions. In particular, patients with motor deficit can sometimes be subject to malpositioning, muscle contractures, sub-dislocations which, once established, can cause pain and undermine the patient's will to the rehabilitation project. Within this paper, a clinical case of a patient with post stroke left hemiparesis will be described.

Abstract:

L'ictus ischemico rappresenta una delle patologie pi? diffuse al mondo e la sindrome della spalla dolorosa una sua complicanza maggiormente riscontrata. L'ictus ischemico pu? provocare un deficit motorio con alterazione del tono muscolare, un'alterazione delle sensibilit? dell'emisoma colpito, un disturbo del linguaggio o delle altre funzioni nervose superiori. In particolare, pazienti con deficit motorio possono talvolta essere soggetti a mal posizionamento, contratture muscolari, sub-lussazioni che una volta instaurate possono provocare dolore e inficiano la volont? del paziente al progetto riabilitativo. All'interno di questo elaborato sar? descritto un caso clinico di un paziente con emiparesi sinistra post ictus.
