Abstract:

Valérie a víkend divů je adaptací surrealistické novely Valérie a týden divů Vítězslava Nezvala, která v sobě také snoubí prvky gotického románu, dekadence a hororu. Příběh sedmnáctileté, právě dospívající Valérie se odehrává během jednoho osudného víkendu. Do vesnice, ve které Valérie se svojí zahořklou babičkou obývá starý dům, přijíždí jedno sobotní ráno pouť, která rozbíjí stereotypní život obou žen a přivádí jim do domu zvláštního hosta, jehož návštěva se stane mladé Valérii i její babičce osudnou. Žila do té doby malá Valérie v iluzi svého dětství nebo naopak je právě svět dospělých stvořen z iluzí nevyřčených tajemství? Závěrečný bakalářský inscenační projekt realizovaný na Divadelní faktultě JAMU v roce 2020.

Abstract:

Valerie and Her Weekend of Wonders is an adaptation of the surrealist short story Valerie and Her Week of Wonders by Vítězslav Nezval, which also combines elements of a Gothic novel, decadence and horror. The story of the seventeen-year-old, just teenage Valérie, takes place during one fateful weekend. One Saturday morning, a pilgrimage arrives in the village where Valerie and her embittered grandmother live in the old house, which breaks the stereotypical lives of both women and brings them to the house of a special guest whose visit will be fatal for young Valerie and her grandmother. Until then, little Valerie lived in the illusion of her childhood or, on the contrary, is the world of adults created from the illusion of unspoken secrets? Final bachelor production project realized at the Theater Faculty of JAMU in 2020.
