Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zaměřuje na prvky vnitřní rozpolcenosti ve vybraných hrách amerického dramatika Sama Sheparda. Práce je zaměřena na dopady tlaku vnějšího prostředí, zejména pop kultury, na uměleckou tvorbu a jejich spojitost s vnitřní rozpolceností umělce, která se projevuje nedostatkem vnitřního souladu. Tento fenomén bude podroben analýze zejména z literárního, ale i psychologického úhlu pohledu.

Abstract:

The purpose of this master's thesis is to analyze the features of postmodern fragmented identity in Sam Shepard's selected plays. The fragmented identity is represented by the absence of unity in protagonists' inner self. The thesis focuses on the impact of pressure exerted upon artists by ever-changing demands of the surrounding culture, and its connectedness with the identity fragmentation. The phenomenon of fragmented identity will be examined from both literary and psychological point of view.
