Stress management strategies of female managers in a selected engineering company

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na téma stresu, strategií jeho zvládání a work-life balance u vybrané skupiny manažerek společnosti Škoda Auto a.s. Hlavním cílem práce je zmapovat, jaké strategie využívají manažerky vybrané společnosti pro dosažení rovnováhy pracovního a soukromého života a jaké techniky pro zvládání stresu v současnosti využívají a považují za nejúčinnější. Výzkum byl realizován prostřednictvím polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s deseti respondentkami. Za využití principů tematické analýzy a otevřeného kódování dat v programu MAXQDA byla identifikována čtyři hlavní témata, kterými jsou: stres, strategie zvládání stresu, work-life balance a syndrom vyhoření. Diskuze výsledků výzkumu nabízí jejich konfrontaci s teoretickou částí a na jejím základě jsou v závěru práce formulována doporučení na úrovni jednotlivce a organizace doplněná o otevřené otázky, které mohou být předmětem dalšího výzkumu.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis focuses on the topic of stress, coping strategies and work-life balance among a selected group of female managers at Škoda Auto a.s. The main goal of the work is to map which strategies are used by female managers of selected companies to achieve a balance between work and private life and which stress management techniques they currently use and consider to be the most effective. The research was carried out through semi-structured interviews with ten female respondents. Using the principles of thematic analysis and open coding of data in the MAXQDA program, four main themes were identified, which are: stress, stress management strategies, work-life balance and burnout syndrome. The discussion of the research results offers their confrontation with the theoretical part, and based on it, recommendations at the level of the individual and the organization are formulated at the end of the thesis, supplemented by open questions that can be the subject of further research.
