Education of secondary school pupils with mental illness

Abstract:

Tato závěrečná práce se zaměřuje na problematiku vzdělávání středoškoláků s duševním onemocněním. V první teoretické části se věnuji obecně vzdělávání žáků s duševním onemocněním na středních školách. Cílem teoretické části je definovat pojmy vztahující se k duševním onemocněním. V praktické části jsou uvedeny tři kazuistiky, které jsou navrženy metodou kvalitativního výzkumu prostřednictvím polo strukturovaného rozhovoru. V praktické části jsou mojí cílovou skupinou dospívající studenti. Cílem praktické části je zjistit, jaké jsou nejčastější problémy studentů a hledání návrhů řešení s ohledem na názory samotných žáků. Pokusit se zjistit, co je pro ně největší překážkou ve studiu i ve společnosti spolužáků a co by jim nejvíce pomohlo studium úspěšně dokončit a vést spokojenější život. Zajímá mne také, jaký mají postoj ke svému postižení samotní dospívající. Závěrečná práce zkoumá, jaké mají studenti s duševním onemocněním na středních školách možnosti studia. Zjišťuji také, jaké mají skutečné znalosti a povědomí o problematice duševních onemocnění pedagogové, jaké zaujímají postoje a jak na nemocné spolužáky pohlížejí ostatní.

Abstract:

This final thesis focuses on the issues with education of high school students, with mental illnesses. In the first theoretical part, I'm focusing on education of students with mental illnesses in high schools. The goal of the theoretical part is generally defining concepts relating to mental illnesses. In the practical part, there's three case studies, which are designed with the method of qualitative research through semi-structured interviews. In practical part, my target category is teenage students. Goal of the practical part is to find out what are the most common problems of the students and searching for solutions according to the opinion of the students themselves. Trying to find out what is the biggest obstacle in studying and in the company of classmates and what would help them to successfully complete their studies and lead a happier life. I am also interested in finding out how teenagers feel about their disability themselves. The final thesis investigates what options are there for high school students with disabilities. I'm also discovering what real knowledge and awareness the pedagogues have about the issue of mental illnesses, what interesting opinions they have and how others view ill students.
