Ešeletové spektrografy a jejich vysoké rozlíšení hrajou důležitou roli při určování charakteristik hvězdnych čar. Rosáhle pole aplikaci je zaměřeno především na měřením přesných radiálnych rychlostí. Echelle spectrographs with their high resolution plays important role in determination of characteristics of stellar lines. Wide field of applications is concentrating mainly on the measurements of precise radial velocity applied in exoplanetary research.
