The contribution of the italian immigration to colloquial Rioplatense Spanish

Abstract:

The aim of this undergraduate thesis is to research Italian migration, especially, to the Gran Buenos Aires area and the province of Santa Fe, analyse the evolution of linguistic assimilation, its fusion with the original dialect of the residents of this zone, i.e. the mixture of Iberic Spanish and guaraní, compare lexical units with its contemporary form and relevance, with original Italian equivalents. The main question concentrates on finding out whether Italian with its dialects were a very potent factor which has significantly influenced and enriched the spoken language in the River Plate on daily basis. The theoretical part is mostly concerned with the study of lexical units of lunfardo and clarifies their etymology. The practical part consists of a Spanish-Italian-Czech glossary of the 50 most used lexical units elaborated based on the questionnaire sent to Argentine residents of the area. Subsequently, in the conclusion of the thesis, I present the analysis and summary focused on the usage of the lunfardo and Italianisms in common conversation.

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce je zkoumat italskou migraci převážně do oblasti Gran Buenos Aires a provincie Santa Fe, analyzovat proces lingvistické asimilace, její fúze s původními nářečími obyvatel dané oblasti, tj. směsi evropské španělštiny a guaraní, porovnat lexikální jednotky převzaté z italštiny s formou a relevancí v aktuální době s původními italskými ekvivalenty. Hlavní výzkumná otázka se zaměřuje na zjištění, zda standardní italština spolu s italskými nářečími byly silným faktorem, které značně ovlivnily i obohatily denní mluvu v oblasti Río de la Plata. Teoretická část se z větší části zabývá studiem lexikálních jednotek lunfarda a objasňuje jejich etymologický původ. Praktická část sestává ze španělsko-italsko-českého glosáře 50 nejpoužívanějších slovních jednotek s italským původem vypracovaného na základě dotazníku zaslanému argentinským obyvatelům s bydlištěm v určené oblasti. Na závěr práce předkládám také analýzu a shrnutí zaměřený na užívání lunfarda a italianismů v běžné komunikaci.
