Experiences of students with hearing disability with residential care

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá trávením volného času neslyšících ubytovaných žáků v domově mládeže. První tři kapitoly tvoří teoretickou část diplomové práce. První kapitola se zaměřuje na teoretické vymezení sluchového postižení, zejména na základní pojmy (sluchové postižení, vada sluchu), rozlišení pojmů neslyšící a Neslyšící. Dále je zde charakterizován jedinec se sluchovým postižením a komunikace s těmito jedinci. Pokračuje vymezením surdopedie a jejím vztahům k ostatním vědním disciplínám. Druhá kapitola se věnuje péči o jedince se sluchovým postižením, zejména legislativnímu rámci a resortům sociální práce, kde je uvedeno, jaké nároky mají neslyšící osoby. V další řadě je práce zaměřena na možnosti vzdělávání jedinců, možnosti středních škol a zmiňuje podpůrná opatření. Třetí kapitola se zabývá volnočasovými aktivitami v domově mládeže. Charakterizuje období adolescence. Dále se věnuje faktorům, které mají vliv na jedince se sluchovým postižením. V poslední řadě definuje internátní péči a volnočasové aktivity, které se vztahují k jedincům se sluchovým postižením. Čtvrtá kapitola tvoří praktickou část diplomové práce. Praktická část je provedena prostřednictvím kvantitativního výzkumu, který je realizován pomocí dotazníkového šetření. Výzkumná část si kladla za cíl zmapovat trávení volného času žáků se sluchovým postižením ubytovaných v domově mládeže, kde působím jako vychovatel. Výzkum se soustředil zejména na nabídku zájmových útvarů domova mládeže, zda tyto zájmové útvary navštěvují, zda je nabídka vyhovující nebo zda existují nějaké překážky bránící těmto žákům se zájmových útvarů účastnit. Značná část výzkumné části se rovněž zabývala vztahem žáků se sluchovým k ostatním osobám vyskytujícím se v domově mládeže, jak tyto osoby vnímají nebo jak s nimi komunikují. Tyto otázky byly vyhodnoceny formou grafů.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis follows the way of spending leisure time of deaf students at boarding schools.The first three chapters form the theoretical part of the thesis. The first chapter focuses on the theoretical definition of hearing impairment, especially the basic concepts (hearing impairment, hearing defect), the definition of deaf people and The Deaf. It continues to describe an individual with hearing impairment and communication with other individuals. The definition of surdopaedia and possible relations to other scientific disciplines follow. The second chapter is devoted to the care of people with hearing disabilities, especially the legislative framework and the departments of social work, which states what are deaf people entitled to. In another perspective, the work is focused on the possibilities of education of individuals, the possibilities of secondary schools and the aforementioned support measures. The third chapter involves free time activities . It describes the period of adolescence and factors which affect yourng people with hearing impairments. In the last it defines boarding care and leisure activities related to hearing impaired individuals. The fourth chapter is the practical part of the thesis. The practical part is carried out through quantitative research, which is carried out by means of a questionnaire survey. The research part aims to map the spending of free time of students with hearing impairment accomodated at boarding school, where I work as a tutor. The research focused mainly on the offer of various clubs, and whether these clubs are visited, whether the offer is satisfactory or whether there are any obstacles preventing these students from participating in these interest groups. A significant part of the research part also dealt with the relationship of hearing impaired students to other people staying at boarding schools, how they perceive or communicate with them. These questions were evaluated in the form of graphs.
