Bakteriofágy (fágy) jsou známy již 90 let a jejich využití jako antimikrobiální agens je jen o málo novější. Zprvu byly fágy hojně využívány k léčení různých humánních i zvířecích nemocí způsobených (nejen) bakteriemi. Bacteriophages (phages) are known for 90 years and their use, as an antimicrobial agens is just a little younger. In the beginning, phages were used for treating different human and animal diseases caused (not only) by bacteria.
