Application of Game Theory in repeated games to the relationship between two companies

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis examines the topic of using game theory for the analysis of relations between two companies from the point of view of their marketing expenses. The theoretical part of the thesis presents the nature of game theory, its history and current knowledge available from the literature. The subject of the thesis is also presented in its broader context of marketing theory with an emphasis on digital marketing. The application part of the work constructs models and formulas within the prisoner's dilemma and repeated games using mixed strategies with the aim of achieving the greatest return on investment in marketing in an oligopolistic market environment.

Abstract:

Predložená bakalárska práca skúma tému využitia teórie hier na analýzu vzťahov medzi dvoma firmami z pohľadu ich výdavkov na marketing. Teoretická časť práce predstavuje povahu teórie hier, jej históriu i aktuálne poznatky dostupné z odbornej literatúry. Predmet práce je ďalej zasadený do širšieho kontextu marketingovej teórie s dôrazom na marketing digitálny. Aplikačná časť práce zostavuje modely a vzorce v rámci väzňovej dilemy a opakované hry s využitím zmiešaných stratégií s cieľom dosiahnuť najväčšiu návratnosť investícií do marketingu v oligopolnom trhovom prostredí.
