Anotace:

Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na román The Haunting of Hill House napsaný autorkou Shirley Jackson v roce 1959, a jeho dvě filmové, a jednu seriálovou adaptaci: The Haunting (Robert Wise, 1963), The Haunting (Jan de Bont, 1999) a The Haunting of Hill House (Mike Flanagan, 2018). Práce analyzuje reprezentaci bisexuality na postavách Eleanor a Theodory. První dvě kapitoly se soustředí na jednotlivé postavy, a uvádějí teoretický kontext potřebný pro analýzu. Třetí kapitola porovnává jednu scénu napříč všemi verzemi Hill House.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on Shirley Jackson’s novel The Haunting of Hill House, released in 1959, and its two movie and one series adaptation: The Haunting (Robert Wise, 1963), The Haunting (Jan de Bont, 1999) and The Haunting of Hill House (Mike Flanagan, 2018). The thesis analyzes the representation of bisexuality as seen in the characters of Eleanor and Theodora. The first two chapters focus on the individual characters, establishing theoretical context needed for the analysis. The third chapter compares one scene across the versions of Hill House.
