Furnace ethics of a dying patient

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá etickými aspekty v péči o umírajícího pacienta, které jsou preferovány pro zachování důstojnosti v terminální fázi života. Cílem bakalářské práce je zjistit, které etické aspekty všeobecné sestry v péči o umírajícího pacienta se preferují a současně, které fenomény považují za důležité pro naplnění důstojnosti člověka v terminální fázi. Práce je členěna na dvě hlavní části, teoretickou a praktickou. Teoretická část přibližuje význam vědního oboru thanatologie v návaznosti s pojmy umírání a smrt. Dále se zabývá paliativní péčí, hospicovou péčí a problematikou etiky péče o umírajícího. V práci zmiňuji potřeby umírajících. Praktická část je zpracována formou čtyř kazuistik ošetřovatelského procesu a funkčního modelu podle Marjory Gordonové. Popisuji etické aspekty v ošetřovatelské péči o umírajícího pacienta. Hlavní cílem mé bakalářské práce je poukázat na důležitost kvalitní ošetřovatelské péče v posledních chvílích života. Závěr práce vyhodnocuje ošetřovatelský proces a navrhuje doporučení pro praxi.

Abstract:

My bachelor thesis deals with ethical aspects of care about a dying patient which are preferred to preserve dignity in the final stage of life. The goal of the thesis is to find out which ethical aspects are preferred by nurses in the care, and which phenomena they concern important to fulfill one´s dignity in the final stage of life. The thesis is divided into two main parts the theoretical and the practical one. The theoretical part focuses on significance of Thanatology in connection with the terms dying and death. Next it deals with palliative care, hospice care and the problem of the ethical care about a dying person. In the paper I even mention needs of the dying ones. The practical part is composed from four case interpretations of nursing process and a functional model by Majority Gordon. I describe the ethical aspects of nursing care about a dying patient. The main goal in my bachelor thesis is to point out importance of a quality of nursing care in the last part of life. The last part of the thesis evaluates the nursing process and suggests recommendations for practice.
